What does QA Lead do at WPP Production?
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Lead (Contract) who will be responsible for the overall quality of our client websites, platforms, and other deliverables. The QA Lead will own the quality and testing efforts of their team to ensure completion of the quality assurance deliverables, adherence to quality and development processes and standards, and drives on time project releases.
The QA Lead will help identify and apply test automation where appropriate across projects. Provides employees guidance in the areas of coaching and training when necessary. Automation will be an important part of our future quality strategy and the QA Lead will play a crucial role in the delivery of high quality projects meeting our client’s needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
- Assist in establishing formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices
- Partner with automation team to discover and leverage opportunities for automation to allow better reliability and scalability
- Participate in design walkthroughs, peer reviews, and defect triage meetings
- Plan, develop and execute test coverage across multiple platforms
- Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution
- Own the process of creating metrics to measure and monitor project performance
- Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated)
- Review and approve test cases written by QA team members
- Identify and help implement opportunities for automation, process and technical improvements
- Provide ongoing employee guidance, coaching, and training
- Instructs, directs and checks the work of other quality assurance testers/analysts
- Communicate product readiness, level of quality, and testing results to both management and cross-functional teams
- Maintain open communication with the team and provide guidance, direction and monitor the day-to-day functions
- Participate in interviews, hiring, and on-boarding of new hires
- Experience identifying gaps in the requirements or testing processes and able to generate solutions for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in QA environment with 2+ years in a senior role.
- Deep understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to come up with test plans and create test cases from project requirements
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of browser variations and rendering engines
- Extensive knowledge of front-end web technologies and automation frameworks
- Experience working with Git, SVN, CMS, and defect tracking systems
- Advanced knowledge of Unix, HTML, Javascript and CSS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
