Senior Creative Technologist (Teacher)
Overview
The Senior Creative Technologist (Teacher) is an experienced educator and creative technologist with a proven track record of teaching advanced technical pipelines to individuals across a wide range of skills and abilities. They don't simply deliver materials, they develop multiple methods of demonstrating concepts to accommodate the various learning styles within their classrooms, ensuring no one gets left behind. This role will be part of the leadership for the Hex Studio. Beyond imparting technical skills, this role is about shaping well-rounded creative technologists who are equipped with the soft skills needed to thrive in advertising, presenting, collaboration, client relations, self-confidence, and professional communication.
This role requires someone with extensive experience in the creative technology field (6–10+ years) who is constantly pushing their own craft and re-educating themselves on the latest tools and pipelines. They should be deeply familiar with collaborative work, managing multi-disciplinary projects, and delivering client work; because they'll be preparing others to do the same.
Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
- Educating cohorts of 10–25 individuals from various skills and backgrounds in the latest creative technology tools, pipelines, and approaches.
- Preparing each cohort for a career as a Creative Technologist in the advertising industry covering both the technical and human sides of the role.
- Developing and adapting curriculum frequently to reflect the fast-moving landscape of creative technology, AI, and emerging platforms.
- Adjusting teaching styles and delivery methods as needed to ensure the entire cohort comprehends all required materials, regardless of prior experience or learning style.
- Providing feedback on all assignments and projects; clear, constructive, and actionable.
Mentorship & Soft Skills Development
- Acting as a mentor and champion for the cohort's successes, building confidence, resilience, and professional identity.
- Ensuring soft skills are developed throughout the training programme: presenting, collaboration, client communication, self-advocacy, and creative problem-solving.
- Fostering community among the cohort and ensuring collaboration remains an integral part of the learning process.
- Providing ample time and space through dedicated office hours, 1-to-1s, and other formats for answering questions and supporting individual progress.
Personal Development & Industry Engagement
- Continuously pushing your own craft, staying current with the latest tools, models, and pipelines across creative technology.
- Bringing real-world project experience and industry insight into the classroom, grounding teaching in practical application.
- Contributing to the wider Creative Technology team's knowledge base through R&D, internal sharing, and thought leadership.
Requirements
- 6–10+ years of experience working in creative technology, with hands-on delivery across multiple disciplines.
- Multi-year teaching or training experience, formal or informal with demonstrated ability to educate groups of varying skill levels.
- Strong working knowledge of 3D pipelines (Unreal Engine, Blender, or similar).
- Proficiency in creative coding (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
- Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI tools and an understanding of how to teach others to use them effectively.
- Confident and engaging presenter comfortable in front of classrooms, clients, and senior leadership.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to break down complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable in client-facing environments, with the professional awareness to prepare others for those situations.
- A genuine passion for developing others patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet people where they are.
- Experience managing or contributing to multi-disciplinary projects in an agency or creative studio environment.
