What does a HEX Resource Manager do at WPP Production? 

The Resource Manager will be an integral part of the HEX team, managing the resource for a team consisting of Creative Technologists, Digital Artists, and Experiential Creatives. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities of this diverse and innovative team, ensuring efficient use of resources and successful completion of projects 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Resource Management and Forecasting: Allocate, schedule, and manage resources, ensuring optimal utilisation and forecasting future needs based on incoming projects and historical data.
  • Program Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are progressing on schedule and within budget.
  • Team Coordination and Development: Act as the primary contact, alongside the EMEA Head of Creative Experience & Innovation, for team members, offering guidance and resolving issues. Implement strategies for team development, including training and team building activities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with senior stakeholders to align strategic objectives and manage expectations. Participate actively in governance meetings, contributing to decision making and policy development.
  • Commercial and Resource Reporting: Participate in commercial reporting calls, reviewing and providing insights into team management's commercial aspects. Prepare regular reports on resource allocation and utilisation for senior management.
  • Client Relations: Communicate with clients to understand project scope, timelines, and resource needs, ensuring that client requirements are met and expectations managed effectively.
  • Apprenticeship Oversight: Collaborate with WPP Production to manage and oversee future apprentice cohorts, providing guidance, mentoring and management to foster growth and talent within the organisation.
  • Process Improvement: Regularly review and refine resource and program management processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Cross Team Utilisation: Ensure that your team are utilised when needed across teams, but also ensure any extra resource (other specialist roles, Project Management) are bought in ahead of time and when needed.

Requirements 

  • Proven experience in resource management, program management, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the creative and digital industries.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring apprentice programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles.
  • Proficiency in project management software like Jira, Xytech,etc
