What does a Junior IT Support Engineer – Production System (m/w/d) do at WPP Production?

As a Junior IT Support Engineer, you will provide first class support to the production users, maintaining and troubleshooting workstations and systems as required, with the aim of providing a stable and fully functioning production environment, either onsite or remotely. You will also be involved in the implementation of new production environments, from workstations to new studios within EMEA. You will play a key part in assessing new technologies to help optimise our end-to-end production workflow.

Your Responsibilities

  • Setting up new production devices in a MacOS environment
  • Scripting pre or post installation scripts where necessary for packages
  • Implementation of new production environments - support, maintain, administer and troubleshoot media production equipment and systems
  • Providing first- and second-level support to all employees at three offices, on-site in Hamburg, as well as in Berlin and Düsseldorf in collaboration with local IT teams
  • Providing on-site technical support for our Grading Suit in Hamburg including technical support during client sessions, maintaining the technical standard/ functionality, troubleshoot during client sessions if necessary
  • Testing applications on MacOS to confirm they work as expected
  • Collaborate with the wider global production technology team to ensure working to global operational and security standards
  • Document and update documentation on standard procedures
  • Responsible for completing project work as assigned by the Production Technology Manager
  • Provide support and cover for other Production Support Engineers
  • Patching software against security vulnerabilities and documenting
  • Working with System and JAMF Pro admins, to upload and set scope of deployment of packages to MacOS systems

Your Experience and Skills

  • Relevant education in media production, IT support, or a comparable technical qualification
  • Experience in technical support (first- and second-level) for end users and/or specialized systems
  • Good knowledge of the macOS
  • Knowledge of applications and plugins used in media production (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Maxon Cinema4D, Nuke, DaVinci Resolve)
  • Knowledge of evaluating and implementing production tools (software, plugins, hardware concepts)
  • first work experience in the technology sector of media production, ideally with a focus on workflow optimization or technology evaluation
  • Understanding of production technologies and workflows for print, digital, video, audio, as well as color pipelines and technical standards is a nice to have
  • Good knowledge of the command line and scripting skills are a plus
  • Proficiency in German and English, both spoken and written
