What does a Creative Artworker do at WPP Production?
As a Creative Artworker, you will be responsible for producing key visuals and master artwork for global brands, creating clear guidelines for their consistent application, and providing expert advice to the team. You will join an amazing team of creative and self-motivated professionals, working collaboratively across the full end-to-end process in a fast-paced, fun environment. This includes producing visuals, concepts, creative expansion, executional retouching, and final print-ready artwork across a variety of formats. You will ensure all work adheres to client guidelines, meets brand requirements, timelines, and deadlines, consistently maintaining the highest standards. You will be someone with an exceptional eye for detail and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Create master artwork quickly and efficiently, in line with brand guidelines and the client’s creative requirements.
- Establish and document clear brand guidelines and rules to enable consistent and accurate adaptations from master files.
- Provide expert guidance and solutions to the team on design challenges encountered when adapting from master files and applying brand guidelines.
- Take briefs from internal and external clients.
- Demonstrate creative expansion ability, producing visuals and following through to print-ready artwork adhering to guidelines and specifications.
- Execute creative and executional retouching across a variety of assets.
- Monitor schedules and process work according to deadlines and all timescale requirements.
- Deliver artwork of a consistently high quality, ensuring it is on brand and within agreed timeframes.
- Demonstrate and champion a clear understanding of our client’s brands.
- Work collaboratively with the print studio, clients, and the wider WPP Production team.
- Communicate with all stakeholders articulately, sharing any issues or knowledge to ensure consistency.
- Respond promptly to information requests from your line manager and management stakeholders.
- Demonstrate sound judgment when giving direction or solving problems.
- Report all non-compliance with processes or issues with files.
- Suggest and implement areas for improvement in workflow and processes.
- Follow relevant checklists for tasks.
- Ensure all workflow statuses are completed and manage work using relevant HWW technologies, adhering to agreed processes and best practices.
- Attend and input to meetings in relation to account relationships, team collaboration, workflow, workload management and issue resolution.
- Be proactive in resolving any issues that arise, escalating for support if needed.
- Appreciate, adhere to and enforce WPP Production’s key policies.
Requirements
- Experience of working in creative and print studios within the industry on global brands.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of all phases of pre-press and printing, including colour management.
- Experience of creating artwork for press (magazines/newspapers).
- Advanced Mac and program skills, including key Creative Suite programs (InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator).
- Strong Powerpoint layout/design template building capabilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs.
- Advanced retouching and visualisation skills.
- Strong layout and typography skills.
- Proven experience in creative expansion, visualisation, artworking, and production.
- A strong understanding of design principles and an exceptional eye for detail, ensuring visual harmony and brand consistency across all outputs.
- Proven ability to document processes and create clear, unambiguous instructional guides.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to set priorities, multitask and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback and communicate challenges accordingly.
- Fluent spoken and written English is essential; other languages desirable.
